There isnt even a Wired extension yet. I installed kinect for a client last week and used an extension. Extension was approx 12 feet. Seems to be working.

I haven't personally done this yet but one of the installers I work with says it works. Use this power supply.... [Link: store.microsoft.com]It powers up the kinect sensor at the location and then puts the data on a stanadard USB A connector. Then you can use USB extension cable or USB over cat5 baluns and run whatever distance you want.

I can confirm the microsoft solution works as well...active baluns definitely preferred if you can't extend long enough with a standard usb cable.
the kit is how all the msft demo/test kits came out originally and is how you would integrate with an older generation xbox360.

I've got a Blackbox USB 2.0 wireless extender I'm going to try -- just got off the phone with Gefen -- they tell me their wireless extender will work but that they've gotten some feedback about things being a bit slow.

What part of "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." do you not understand? |

Are you sure those work with Kinect? The specs are calling "Full Speed" a whopping 12 Mbps. That's USB 1.1 speeds, and it specifically says 2.0.
